THE DAY DUSTY CAME INTO OUR LIVES

While working at a florist in 1990, Georgette called me

at home and told me to come to the shop immediately.  When I

got there she brought me in the greenhouse to the clay pot section.

Way at bottom of the shelf there was this tiny black and white

kitten no more than a day or two old.  We didn't know what to do.

The boss came over and said we should leave it alone because  the

momma cat is probably moving the litter to a quieter place. He said to check

it the next day.  All that night we were thinking of that precious little baby.

The next day we rode to the shop.  We went to check

on the kitten and it was still in the same spot now all covered with dust.

So we named him Dusty

Across the street from the shop was the animal hospital where we bring

our other cats.  They kept Dusty there for the day and being that he was so tiny,

he required around the clock care and the hospital could not do it.

They gave us instructions on how to care for him.

We had Dusty for 10 years until he was diagnosed with a

urinary tract infection. He died of kidney failure on October 5th 2001.

He is deeply missed.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS DUSTY
