On May 19th, 2003, Smokey had surgery.  He had a
serious infection to his right eye and it had to be removed.

He was doing just fine until gradually he would stop eating.
We had to put him on a liquid diet which we fed to him with a syringe. His health took a turn for the worse when the infection had spread to his other eye. Smokey lost vision. The Dr. said it would be best to have him euthanized.

Smokey crossed the bridge on July 9th. He was 15 years old.
He lived a good, long and happy life and he is truly missed.
He was a great cat.
